JUSD (JuiceDollar) is a decentralized, over-collateralized stablecoin designed to track the value of the US Dollar through on-chain economic incentives rather than a hard peg. It operates as a trust-minimized digital dollar within the Citrea ecosystem, combining collateralized lending with a fully permissionless architecture. The protocol is built on immutable smart contracts with no admin keys, no upgradeability, and no central authority, emphasizing censorship resistance and self-custody for users. Core Design JUSD is issued through an over-collateralized model, where users deposit crypto assets (e.g., Bitcoin) as collateral to mint new tokens. Each JUSD in circulation must be backed by collateral of equal or greater value, with automated liquidation mechanisms designed to maintain solvency. Unlike many stablecoins, JUSD is oracle-free, meaning it does not rely on external price feeds, reducing dependency on third-party infrastructure and certain attack vectors.
