What is Margin Trading?
Margin trading is a trading method that involves using third-party funds to trade assets. Traders borrow funds to buy and sell cryptocurrency assets, allowing them to utlilize more capital than they would otherwise have and amplify their positions through margin. Margin trading can magnify both profits and losses, potentially leading to greater gains in profitable trades or larger losses when the market moves unfavorably.
How to transfer
- Select the coin you want to transfer and click 'Transfer', or click 'Transfer' at the top of the page.
- On the current transfer page, select the fund transfer from the spot account/futures account to the margin account, select the trading pair, coin, and enter the transfer amount, then click 'Confirm'.
- After the transfer is completed, you can view the updated balance in the 'Margin Account'.
How to borrow
- Make sure funds have been transferred to your Margin Account. On the Margin Account page, select the coin you want to borrow, click on 'Borrow', or click 'Borrow' at the top of the page.
- On the current borrowing page, choose the margin market, coin, and enter the borrowing amount. After confirming that the daily interest rate and other relevant information are correct, click 'Confirm'.
Note: The system will automatically calculate the maximum amount you can borrow based on the assets in your margin account and the leverage ratio.
- After successful borrowing, you can check the borrowed amounts for each currency and the total borrowed amount in the 'Margin Account'.
How to repay
- Log into your XT.COM account and click 'Funds'-'Margin' on the top navigation bar.
- Choose the currency you want to repay, click 'Repay', or click 'Repay' at the top of the page.
- On the current repayment page, select the margin market, coin, and enter the repayment amount. After confirming that the interest and other relevant information are correct, click 'Confirm Repayment'.
Notes:
- You must repay with the borrowed coins. For instance, if you borrowed XT, your account must have XT available for repayment. Other currencies cannot be used as substitutes.
- You can choose to repay all or part of the borrowed amount. However, both repayment methods will prioritize the repayment of borrowed interest before the principal amount.
