Dear XTers,
XT has officially launched the Guaranteed Stop Loss feature for futures trading. By enabling this feature, you can ensure that your stop-loss order is executed at the preset price, helping you effectively manage potential risks caused by market volatility. The first supported trading pairs include: BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT, SOLUSDT, XRPUSDT, and DOGEUSDT. More trading pairs will be supported gradually. Please stay tuned for official announcements.
What Is Guaranteed Stop Loss?
Guaranteed Stop Loss is a paid risk control feature designed to help you ensure that your position is closed at the preset stop-loss price during periods of sharp market volatility, avoiding additional losses caused by slippage.
Once enabled, no matter how market liquidity changes, when the stop-loss condition is triggered, the system will forcibly close your position at the trigger price you set, achieving zero-slippage execution.
Difference from Regular Stop Loss
| Comparison Item | Regular Stop Loss | Guaranteed Stop Loss |
| Execution Price | Executed based on the market price, with possible slippage | Fixed at the stop-loss price, with no slippage |
| Performance in Extreme Market Conditions | Price gaps may cause the stop loss to fail or losses to expand | Forced execution, locking the maximum loss |
| Fees | Free | A Guaranteed Stop Loss fee will be charged. To help you better understand the advantages of Guaranteed Stop Loss, the following comparison shows three different stop-loss strategies. |
Example: BTCUSDT Futures, open a long position of 1 BTC, with an average entry price of 80,000 USDT.
Assume BTC suddenly drops from 80,000 USDT to 78,000 USDT. Three traders use different stop-loss strategies:
| Strategy Type | Market Stop Loss | Limit Stop Loss | Guaranteed Stop Loss |
| Initial Stop-Loss Price | 79,000 USDT | 79,000 USDT | 79,000 USDT |
| Actual Stop-Loss Price | 78,000 USDT | Not fully filled | 79,000 USDT |
| Final Loss | 2,000 USDT (=80,000 − 78,000) | Unknown, possibly larger | 1,000 USDT (=80,000 − 79,000) |
| Case Analysis | A market stop-loss order can be executed quickly, but it cannot lock the execution price. During sharp market volatility, the execution price may slip significantly to 78,000 USDT. | Limit stop-loss orders may not be fully filled during sharp declines, which may result in extremely high loss risk. | Guaranteed Stop Loss is executed at 79,000 USDT, fully locking in the stop-loss price and avoiding slippage risk. |
Note: The example calculation is simplified and does not include fees.
